Grandfriends Day: A Celebration of Connection
An invitation to share lunch, laughter, and special moments with the children we cherish.

We are delighted to welcome our Grandfriends to Mountain Shadows for one of our sweetest celebrations of the year!
Grandfriends Day is a special opportunity for children to share their Montessori environment with the important people in their lives. Whether grandparents, extended family members, neighbors, mentors, or cherished family friends, we look forward to celebrating the relationships that make our community so special.
Grandfriends are invited to bring their own lunch and enjoy a relaxed, family-style gathering with their children, complete with plenty of laughter, special treats, handmade gifts, and a few sweet surprises! Weather permitting, lunches may take place outdoors. Otherwise, classrooms will host cozy, family-style gatherings in their prepared environments.
Gathering Times
Nido & Young Children's Community (YCC): 11:30 a.m.
Primary: 12:00 p.m.
Elementary & Adolescent: 11:30 a.m.
Grandfriends visiting children in different classrooms are welcome to split their time between environments! Please let your children's Lead Guides know in advance so they can coordinate with one another and ensure each child has special time with their Grandfriend(s).
RSVP Required: Please Plan Ahead!
Each classroom's Lead Guide will send a separate RSVP invitation directly to families. Advance RSVPs are required, as children will be thoughtfully preparing special gifts and surprises for their Grandfriends, and seating is limited.
Please RSVP through your child's classroom invitation so our teachers can plan seating, materials, and preparations accordingly. We are unable to accommodate unregistered, walk-in guests, so please do not arrive without a confirmed RSVP. See your child’s classroom newsletter for details and deadlines.
