Enrichment Programs

Our Enrichment Programs are intended to enhance your child’s experience at Mountain Shadows International Montessori School. We offer a variety of after-school classes that are consistent with interests and developmental needs of the children. These programs are open to children who do not attend MSIMS—this is a great way to get to know our school community!

Programs We Offer

  • MSISM is proud to offer a Spanish Vocabulary Enrichment Program to children in Primary through Elementary. In these classes, children are guided by a trained Montessorian through an exploration of the Spanish Language using songs, games, and hands-on materials.

  • Through our LEGO program, children are introduced to basic STEM concepts through Engineer-designed projects and lots of LEGOs. Children have the opportunity to explore unique LEGO parts designed with STEM education in mind, with projects rotated consistently so that both new and returning Jr. Engineers have a blast and learn something new every week.

  • In this program, children will explore Origami and learn techniques to transform simple sheets of paper into stunning works of art. Along the way, they’ll develop patience, focus, and spatial reasoning—all while having fun and expressing their creativity!

  • During aftercare children enjoy a snack and time outdoors, and are provided opportunities for experiential learning and creative expression through self-guided projects, cooperative games, and art materials.

  • Facilitated by a MSIMS Parent, Christine Vladeck, This coed dance rhythm and song immersion experience will bring together drum, song, and mindful a cappella in tune with the evolution of song and dance.  All music used will be mindful, upbeat, and have good messages. There will be a final performance to celebrate!

  • Let your voice soar with Vocal Stars Choir, our dynamic after-school singing program. Designed for young performers of all skill levels, Vocal Stars Choir builds confidence, musicality, and stage presence through engaging vocal training and exciting group performances.

  • Tippi Toes Dance Classes bring the love of dance to children in a fun and encouraging environment. Our dance classes are designed to boost confidence, creativity, and coordination, all while having a blast!

  • Join Mad About Hoops each week for a whirlwind of spinning fun! During class, students will dive into exciting hula hoop games, master waist hooping, and learn dazzling tricks that build confidence and coordination. We’ll mix it up with partner moves, teamwork challenges, and plenty of giggles along the way!

    To top it all off, each child will design and decorate their very own hula hoop to use in our end-of-semester performance for families, as a one-of-a-kind keepsake!

  • The Knight School Chess Team is your school's official chess team and chess party. The Knight School's approach has had amazing success -- spreading a love for Chess to over 14,000 students nationwide -- because our unique and unprecedented educational philosophy, "the chess party," is the perfect way to transform a complete beginner into a devastating chess machine.
