Kamryn Melrose (She/Her)

Office Administrator & Registrar

Serving Mountain Shadows since 2026

Kamryn Melrose was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. She attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and developed a strong foundation in supporting children’s growth and learning.

Kamryn has always been drawn to working with children and values the opportunity to support them as they grow into confident, capable individuals. Her experience as a nanny, Teacher’s Assistant, Paraeducator, and Substitute Teacher has given her a well-rounded understanding of children and classroom environments, as well as the importance of supporting both academic and social-emotional development.

She is particularly passionate about Montessori education and its emphasis on independence, curiosity, and respect for the individual child. Kamryn appreciates the way Montessori environments encourage children to take ownership of their learning, explore at their own pace, and develop confidence in their abilities. She is inspired by the thoughtfully prepared environment and the focus on fostering independence, responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning.

In her role at Mountain Shadows, Kamryn enjoys building relationships with children, families, and colleagues and helping create a welcoming and connected school community. She brings an approachable and positive presence to her work and values the small, everyday interactions that help people feel seen, supported, and welcomed.

Outside of Mountain Shadows, Kamryn enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and exploring new places with her fiancé and their longhaired dachshund, Arlo. She also enjoys creative pursuits such as painting, clay sculpting, and knitting. She especially loves exploring walking trails, spending time in nature, and finding opportunities to stay active and connected to the outdoors.

The first thing his education demands is the provision of an environment in which he can develop the powers given him by nature.
