Jason Stephens brings more than 20 years of experience in education, arts administration, and leadership to Mountain Shadows. He is passionate about building strong school communities where students, families, and educators feel connected, supported, and inspired to grow.

Throughout his career, Jason has served in a variety of leadership roles spanning administration, communications, operations, and music education. Before joining Mountain Shadows, he led marketing and community engagement for El Sistema Colorado and spent nearly two decades with The United States Army Field Band, where he directed educational outreach, managed large-scale operations, and developed partnerships with schools and communities across the country. He has also served as a band director, department chair, and private school educator, fostering student leadership, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the University of South Florida and a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Florida State University. He believes that meaningful relationships, collaboration, and joyful learning experiences are at the heart of every thriving school community.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with family, exploring Colorado on gravel bike rides, and hopes to continue pursuing his passion for amateur road racing. A lifelong musician, he also loves experiencing live music whenever he can. Whether he’s at the track, at a concert, or sharing adventures with family, Jason values experiences that build connection, challenge him to grow, and create lasting memories.
