Cat Huitt (She/Her)
Assistant Guide
Red Fox Primary
Cat discovered Montessori education when her daughter was two years old and quickly became passionate about the Montessori philosophy. Inspired by the writings of Maria Montessori, she enrolled at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas, where she earned her AMS Primary certification. During her studies, she worked as an assistant in the Primary classroom that her daughter attended, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a Montessori environment.
Originally from Texas, Cat developed a lifelong love of the mountains through annual winter ski trips to Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Texas A&M University–Commerce. After her initial work in Montessori education, she went on to teach art to elementary, middle, and high school students. As an artist, she enjoys incorporating creativity into all aspects of her life and teaching. She is passionate about inspiring children to think creatively, solve problems, and reach their full potential. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is witnessing the moment a child experiences a breakthrough in learning and confidence. Returning to Montessori education has reinvigorated her career, and in the summer of 2025, she completed a Montessori refresher course through the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies.
In addition to her work in education, Cat is a certified fitness professional who teaches yoga, barre, strength training, and cycling classes. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Doug, his son, and her daughter. Together they enjoy hiking, biking, and walking their small dog, Gigi.
