Angelarose Maeding (She/Her)

Assistant Guide

Serving Mountain Shadows since 2025

Angelarose is originally from upstate New York.  Her eagerness to explore took her to Connecticut. She landed her first job being a nanny for a family that had three children. While working with them for three successful years, she was inspired to continue to work with children. She attended Harford Community College, earned an associate degree in Early Childhood Education and developed a passion for teaching Creative Movement.

Ready to take on the world, Angelarose road tripped across the United States, landing in Santa Cruz, California. Embracing her love for kinesthetic expression, she started taking dance classes that led her to a job opportunity with the Santa Cruz Cultural Council, teaching dance to K- 5th grade. During this time Angelarose found Santa Cruz Montessori School.  She offered to hold after school classes and substitute teach. Soon enough she found herself in the  lower elementary classroom teaching creative movement and drama improvisation as a specialist teacher.  After 3 years she was offered an assistant position in the elementary classroom. This is where Angelarose found her home away from home.

In Santa Cruz, she attended Cabrillo College to continue her ECE studies along with dance, drama and yoga. This led to dance performances with professional dance companies such as Blind Geese and Mir and Company. She joined the production team, Kids on Broadway, choreographing musicals such as Fiddler on the Roof and The Music Man.  She went on to receive her 200 hour yoga certification from The Mount Madonna Center. Having a thirst for travel she went to India to study yoga and teach English as a second language.

While vacationing on Maui Angelarose met the love of her life.  After completing her last school year in Santa Cruz, she was offered a job at Hale O Keiki Montessori School, Maui. She taught dance and drama for primary and elementary levels and was an elementary assistant.

Discovering a love for Montessori pedagogy, especially peace education, Angelarose and her husband took flight and hit the road to The Montessori Center of the Rockies here in Boulder.  She received a primary credential with AMS. Intern positions took them to Carbondale, Colorado.  She worked in the primary classroom at Mt Sopris Montessori School and taught drama at Ross Montessori School at the elementary level for after school programs.

As the journey continued, Angelarose and her husband were invited to work at White Rock Montessori School in Dallas, Texas.  Here she co-taught in the lower elementary classroom. She was awarded a scholarship for the elementary training through the American Montessori Society.  As time went on, moving back to Colorado to be near family was a must. Angelarose continued her Montessori Journey teaching at a few schools here in the valley, finally making it to Mountain Shadows Montessori School.
