The child is both a hope and promise for mankind.
— Dr. Maria Montessori
Patricia Speth grew up in Massapequa, Long Island, NY. She was brought to Colorado to finish her B.A. in Psychology at CU Boulder, and then to complete her AMI (Montessori) Birth to 3 training in Denver. Patricia studied at the Center for Montessori Education at Loyola University Maryland and received her M.Ed in Montessori Infancy. After her formal education, she received her Director’s license in 2021. Patricia is a lifelong scholar. After her formal training she obtained an additional certification in RIE (Resources for Infant Educators) Foundations and Theory. She plans to obtain her AMI primary diploma as soon as she is able.
Patricia is a 3rd-generation Montessorian and was an AMI Montessori Child herself. Alongside her passion for working with very young children, she has 3 children of her own and has been a Mountain Shadows parent since 2010. Her eldest daughter graduated in 2019 from the upper elementary, her son completed his final year in the primary classroom with Koral, and her youngest son is currently with her in the YCC. Her favorite aspect about working at Mountain Shadows is that "It is the most authentic place to foster the spirit of Maria Montessori." She was drawn from across the country to find comradery and a beautiful place to not only teach other children but to also grow her family.

In her spare time, Patricia enjoys cooking, cleaning, camping/being outdoors, fishing, and cross stitching.
