Serving Mountain Shadows since 2022

Maddie was born in the little college town of Conway, Arkansas and settled here in Colorado after graduating high school. She lived and worked in Longmont until relocating to Boulder when she accepted a role at Mountain Shadows. She found that she enjoyed working with children through volunteering for youth events at the county library throughout her teenage years. Maddie currently balances her career with the pursuit of a B.A. in Computer Science, with a keen interest in the intersection of Education and Technology. They have been practicing Early Childhood Education for 5 years, and has enjoyed connecting with and learning from the diverse families they've served during their time in the classroom. Maddie has completed extensive professional development and independent study during their time working in Early Childhood Education, and is always enthusiastic about opportunities to learn more about child development.

After several years in conventional preschool environments, she discovered her true passion in Montessori education. Drawing from their personal experience struggling with childhood ADHD while in traditional schools, Maddie firmly believes in the transformative power of Montessori for neurodivergent children. Maddie finds a great deal of joy in fostering an environment where children can explore and thrive independently, while still feeling secure and supported.

When Maddie isn't relaxing with a video game or a movie at home she loves to attend concerts, hang out with her husky Tokko, and visit thrift shops. Besides education, her biggest passions are art, technology, and pop culture.
Receive the children in reverence; educate them in love; let them go forth in freedom.
