Cathy McGovern (She/Her)

Chickadee YCC Assistant Guide

Serving Mountain Shadows since 2019

Cathy grew up in Maryland and moved to Colorado in 1995 with her husband, so he could attend CU for his MBA. She and her husband loved Colorado so much, they decided to make it their permanent home. She feels blessed to have been able to raise her children in such a beautiful environment.
Cathy received her BS in Business Administration and worked for several engineering companies prior to having children. She then pivoted towards education once her children began school. She has worked with a wide range of children from teens to infants, but has found her niche working with the YCC community.
Cathy has continued her education, by taking Early Childhood Education classes through Front Range. Cathy has been working in Montessori for 4 years and has thoroughly enjoyed immersing herself in the teaching methods. It is a beautiful educational experience and one that should be highly valued. She loves watching the immense growth of the children in the YCC.
Cathy enjoys hiking with her husband and dogs on the weekends. Cathy also loves reading mystery and crime novels during her free time. She has recently taken up bike riding and enjoys challenging herself on new and varied terrain.

The most important age of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age of 6.
