Camilla Modesitt (She/Her)

Interim Head of School

Serving Mountain Shadows since 2023

Camilla Modesitt grew up in New Jersey and Virginia. She moved to Colorado to attend law school. Camilla holds a law degree from the University of Denver, and has worked in publishing law and complex commercial litigation. She also spent a good amount of time on the campaign trail, working for political candidates. However, her proudest professional accomplishment is founding a high performing public K-8 language immersion school.
Camilla has a deep appreciation for any educational model that truly focuses on the development of the child and emphasizes respect for self and others, while fostering creativity and critical thinking and giving students skills that set them up for success as they move through life.
Outside of education, Camilla loves to spend time teaching, coaching and performing improv. She has been on numerous improv teams, performing in improv festivals around the country, as well as running the Denver Improv Festival for a number of years. Right now, she teaches improv to a fantastic group of people in Denver every other week. Camilla highly recommends improv above all other professional learning and/or self-help. It's the most fun you can have while becoming a better listener, less fearful, and more collaborative.
Aside from improv, Camilla loves to travel and see new places, read, and bake. She also loves dogs and if she could, she would bring home every rescue dog.
Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.
