Elementary II Program

Real-World Applications of Studies
Elementary II Student and TeacherBuilding upon the Elementary I Program, Elementary II students are encouraged to gain further understanding of core ideas through the real-world application of the teacher's lessons. Throughout the day, students meet with the teacher, from which follow-up exploration and practice is completed. Students are provided with the resources and support necessary to complete scientific experiments, compose structured and creative written works, and explore historical and cultural influences upon society.

The rigorous Elementary II program provides a balanced education, covering the core subjects of mathematics, science, literacy, and social studies. Additionally, students are provided opportunities for enrichment in foreign languages, fine arts, music, physical education, and computer technology.

  • Mathematics, Algebra, and Physics introduce and further refine more abstract concepts of our number system and the relationship of numbers to science.

  • Economic Geography begins the process of relating resources and materials to human interactions.

  • Ecology and History investigate the various ways people have utilized resources.

  • Structures of Languages bring to a more abstract level the ways in which language architecture affects communication.

  • The Art of Communication and Creative Self-Expression expand our interactions to include not only writing and reading, but also plays and presentations to groups.

  • Anthropology views a common set of needs of the human species and how various peoples met their needs over time.

  • Extended Research, Discovery, and Problem Solving extend the tools that children can utilize to expand their interests and their research.

  • Task Evaluation and Management develop essential time management skills to help children become aware of their personal work habits, styles, and needs. Elementary II Students

Beyond the academic and extra-curricular studies of each student, the Elementary II Program provides a safe, enriching environment that fosters continual learning and growth outside of the classroom. Within the program, student development thrives under the guidance and support of a gifted and enthusiastic faculty. Beyond academic instruction, teachers construct a positive community by developing each student as an honest, trustworthy, compassionate individual. In addition, while the Elementary II program is not graded, teachers maintain a monitoring system to ensure that students receive a well-rounded education, stay on track, and work towards autonomy.
